Paschal Prayers

Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, have mercy on us. Amen.

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and to those in the tombs bestowing life! (3x)

Having beheld the Resurrection of Christ, let us worship the holy Lord Jesus, the only sinless One. We bow before Your Cross, O Christ, and we praise and glorify Your holy Resurrection; for you are our God, and we recognize no other besides You, and we call upon Your name. Come, all you faithful, and let us worship Christ's holy Resurrection, for through the Cross joy has come to all the world. Ever blessing the Lord, we praise His Resurrection, for having endured crucifixion, He has destroyed death by death! (3x)

Matins Hymn (Tone 8)

Before the dawn, the women came with Mary and found the stone rolled away from the tomb, and they heard the Angel say, "Why do you seek among the dead, as a mortal, the One Who lives in everlasting light? Behold the burial linens! Go quickly and proclaim to the world that the Lord is risen and has conquered death, for He is the Son of God, the Savior of mankind!"

Kondak (Tone 8)

Although You descended into the grave, O Immortal One, You destroyed the power of death, and You arose as victor, O Christ God, calling to the myrrh-bearing women, "Rejoice!" and giving peace to Your Apostles, and resurrection to the fallen.

Troparia (Tone 8)

You were in the grave with Your body, but also in Hades with Your soul as God; in Paradise with the Thief, and also on the Throne with the Father and the Spirit, O Christ, the Inexpressible One, filling all things.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:

How life-giving, how more beautiful than paradise, and truly more radiant than any royal palace was Your tomb shown to be, O Christ, the Source of our resurrection!

Now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

O sanctified and divine tabernacle of the Most High, rejoice! For through you, O Birth-giver of God, joy is given to those who proclaim, "Blessed are you among women, O all-pure Lady!"

Lord, have mercy. (forty times)

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who as a Virgin gave birth to God the Word, true Birth-giver of God, we magnify you.

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and to those in the tombs bestowing life! (three times)

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Lord, have mercy. (three times)

May Christ our true God, Who is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and to those in the tombs bestowing life: through the prayers of His most pure Mother, and of all the Saints, have mercy on us and save us, for He is good and the lover of mankind. Amen.
