The Trisagion Prayers

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Glory to You, our God, glory to You!

O Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, Who are everywhere present and fill all things; Treasurer of Blessings and Giver of life, come and dwell within us, and cleanse us from every blemish, and save our souls, O blessed One!

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us! [3]

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

O most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; O Lord, cleanse us of our sins; O Master, forgive our transgressions; O Holy One, come to us and heal our infirmities, for Your Name's sake.

Lord, have mercy! [3]

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory: of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Lord, have mercy. [12]

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Come, let us worship God our King! Come, let us worship and bow down before Christ, our King and our God! Come, let us worship and bow down before Christ Himself, our King and our God!

Psalm 50

HAVE MERCY ON ME, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the multitude of Your compassions blot out my transgression.

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.

*Against You only have I sinned and done this evil before You, that You might be justified in Your words, and prevail when You are judged.

For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins did my mother bear me.

*For behold, You have loved truth; the hidden and secret things of Your wisdom You have made clear to me.

You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be made clean; You shall wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.

*You shall make me to hear joy and gladness; the bones which have been humbled shall rejoice.

Turn Your face away from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.

*Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from Your presence, and take not Your Holy Spirit from me.

*Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and with Your governing Spirit establish me.

I shall teach transgressors Your ways and the ungodly shall turn back to You.

*Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, who are the God of my salvation; my tongue shall rejoice in Your righteousness.

O Lord, You shall open my lips, and my mouth shall declare Your praise.

*For if You had desired sacrifice, I would have given it; with whole-burnt offerings You shall not be pleased.

A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; a heart that is broken and humbled God will not despise.

*Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasure to Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built.

Then shall You be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with oblation and whole-burnt offerings. Then shall they offer bullocks upon Your altar.

Intercessions

REMEMBER, O LORD JESUS CHRIST OUR GOD, Your mercies and loving-kindnesses which are from all eternity, and through which You became Man and even willed to suffer crucifixion and death for the salvation of those who rightly believe in You. Having risen from the dead, You ascended into heaven, and sit at the right hand of God the Father and regard the humble prayers of those who call upon You with their whole heart: Incline Your ear, and hear the humble prayer of us, Your servants, as the sweet fragrance of spiritual incense, which we offer to You for all people.

First of all, remember Your Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church which You have purchased with Your precious blood. Establish, strengthen and increase her. Keep her in peace and preserve her unconquerable by the gates of hell forever. Heal the dissensions of the churches, quench the raging of the nations, and quickly destroy and uproot the rising of heresies, turning them into nothing through the power of Your Holy Spirit.

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on our President, the Congress, the Supreme Court, our Governor, and all in authority over us. Surround them with peace, and speak peace and blessing in their hearts for Your Holy Church, and for all Your people, in order that we may live calm and peaceful lives, in all godliness and dignity.

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on all Orthodox bishops, priests and deacons, and the whole clergy of Your Church, whom you have ordained to feed the flock of Your word, and by their prayers have mercy on me, a sinner.

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on all our parishioners who serve Your holy church: those who advise, those who labor and those who sing, those who bear fruit, and those who do good works and all who help our parish.

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on (names) and grant them mercy, life, peace, health, salvation, visitation, pardon and remission of sins, that they may ever praise and glorify Your holy name.

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on the old and the young, the poor, the orphans and widows, and on those who are in sickness and in sadness, in misfortunes and in sorrow, in war and in captivity, in prison and in exile, the homeless and the destitute, those who are in need of Your loving-kindness, and especially on Your servants suffering persecution for Your sake and for the Orthodox Faith from godless people, apostates, and heretics. Visit, strengthen, comfort and heal them, and by Your power quickly grant them relief, freedom, and deliverance.

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on the souls of all who are out this day/night; the homeless, the weary, the starving, the intemperate, the suicidal, those who are out for sin and the victims of sin, and those who are enduring any agony of body or mind. Strengthen them, Lord Jesus, and help them in body and mind.

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on those who are out to rescue others, for nurses, doctors and pastors, for those undergoing operations, for those who must suffer bereavement, for those for whom it will be their last day on earth, give them calmness, faithfulness and sympathy and be near them and reward them.

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on all Orthodox Christians who are messengers and missionaries in Your service.

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on those whom we have offended or caused to stumble, and whom we have turned from the way of salvation, and whom we have led into evil and harmful deeds. By your divine providence restore them again to the path of salvation.

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on those who hate and offend us, and do us harm, and let them not perish because of us sinners.

Enlighten with the light of grace all who have left the Orthodox Faith and have been blinded by heresies, reuniting them to Your Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

Remember, O Lord, all those who have fallen asleep in the hope of resurrection and eternal life, especially (names). Forgive all their sins committed in knowledge or ignorance. Grant them Your heavenly Kingdom. Let them enjoy Your eternal blessings in the Light of Your presence. Grant them peace, refreshment, fellowship with Your saints, and everlasting life.

Hymn of the Incarnation

O Only begotten Son and Word of God, Who being immortal, willed for the sake of our salvation, to become incarnate of the holy Birthgiver of God, and ever Virgin Mary, and without change became man, and was crucified for us, O Christ God, Who by Your death did conquer death, O You Who are one of the Holy Trinity, equally glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit, save us.

A Prayer Before Reading the Scriptures

O Master Who loves mankind, illuminate our hearts with the pure light of Your divine knowledge and open the eyes of our mind to understand the teachings of Your Gospel. Instill in us also the fear of Your blessed commandments, that we overcome all carnal desires, entering upon a spiritual life and understanding and acting in all things according to Your holy will. For You are the enlightenment of our souls and bodies, O Christ God, and to You we give glory together with Your eternal Father and Your all-holy, gracious and life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

The Scriptures for the Day

(After reading): Glory to You, O Lord, glory to You!

The Symbol of Faith

I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.

Light of light; true God of true God; begotten, not made; consubstantial with the Father, by Whom all things were made;

Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and of the Virgin Mary, and was made man.

He was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried.

And the third day He arose again, according to the Scriptures.

And He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father.

And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom shall have no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father,

Who together with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,

Who spoke through the prophets.

In one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

I profess one baptism for the remission of sins.

I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life in the world to come. Amen.

The Prayer of the Hours

O Christ God, who at all times and at every hour, in heaven and on earth, are worshiped and glorified,

who are long suffering, plenteous in mercy, most compassionate, who love the righteous and have mercy on sinners, who call all to salvation through the promise of good things to come:

*Receive, O Lord our prayers at this hour, and guide our life toward your commandments.

Sanctify our souls, make chaste our bodies, set aright our minds, cleanse our thoughts, and deliver us from every sorrow, evil, and pain.

*Encompass us with your holy angels, so that guarded and guided by their watch, we may attain to the unity of the faith and to the knowledge of Your ineffable glory:

for You are blessed unto ages of ages. Amen.

The Hymn to the Virgin

You are truly deserving of glory, O Birthgiver of God, the ever blessed and most pure Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who as a virgin gave birth to God the Word. True Birthgiver of God, we magnify you.

Closing Prayers

Glory to You, O Christ God our hope, glory to You. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Lord, have mercy. [3] O Lord, bless. Lord Jesus Christ, through the prayers of Your most pure mother, our holy and God-bearing fathers, and all the Saints, have mercy on us, and save us, for You are good and the Lover of Mankind. Amen.
